Voice-over and dubbing

Video, explainers and internal training need clear diction, stable levels and takes that fit picture. In our dubbing booth on Overtoom you record Voice-over & dubbing with an engineer watching timing and tech.

Voice actor performs in a booth while engineer signals through the window.

Cijativojaconsulting targets voice-over for ads and corporate film, e-learning modules, app onboarding, internal comms and sync work where delivery stays neutral Dutch or international English. It is not a singing session — for music and reference vocals see vocal recording.

You supply script, picture or timecode notes; we deliver clean WAV stems per take or scene, ready for your edit timeline. Small projects up to twenty minutes of final spoken audio fit the project rate; longer courses or series run in scheduled blocks.

Process

  1. Script and rights

Send copy, pronunciation list for brands and confirmation you hold rights. We do not provide legal advice — see disclaimer.

  2. Session setup

Spoken-voice mic, pop filter, script on stand or tablet holder. Engineer handles picture sync or timecode in the control room.

  3. Takes and timing

Multiple passes per paragraph or scene; pick-ups for difficult words. We flag usable takes and length against picture.

  4. Delivery

Per-scene or per-take WAV with consistent naming. Optional single compiled bounce per chapter quoted separately.

Typical assignments

Marketing teams syncing a product film, schools building modular e-learning, startups localising an app in Dutch, agencies wanting a neutral voice without heavy regional colour — daily booth work. Tight TV spots and calm training modules share the room but not the same pacing notes.

Musical vocals, rap and stacks belong under vocal recording. Multi-host conversations under podcast recording. We do not mix background music by default; that is mixing or your editor’s job.

Accent and language

We aim for neutral Dutch or international English unless you want a character voice. Brand names, acronyms and foreign words go on a pronunciation sheet before rolling — that saves pick-up hours later.

English copy for Dutch audiences or the reverse is common. The engineer keeps tempo and articulation consistent so edits do not sound like each line was recorded on a different day.

Picture and timecode

Bring video on a laptop or via an agreed feed to the control room. We listen for lip-sync when needed, or for calm VO under montage. Scene numbers or timecode in the script label exports so your editor does not guess.

Recording without picture works when you give max duration per block («12 seconds max»). We measure takes against that limit. The studio is on Overtoom in Oud-West. Trams 1 and 12 serve the Overtoom (Vondelpark) stop; from there it is about a five-minute walk. You can lock your bike at the racks along Overtoom in front of the building. Arrive at Overtoom 141 so setup stays inside the booked block.

Booth and signal

The dubbing booth shares treated acoustics with our vocal spaces — about 11 m², standing or seated reading. We record dry so your edit adds space. Headphones can carry programme audio or a guide track.

Files are 24-bit WAV; broadcast loudness can sit in your chain or via mastering when music-plus-voice deliverables matter. Unprocessed speech is the default.

Rates and project size

OptionPrice incl. 21% VATWhen to use
Studio hour€118Short spot, pick-ups, trial read
Half day€425Several modules or script variants
Small project€780Up to 20 minutes final audio, fixed scope

The project fee covers recording and basic editing (trim silences, consistent naming), not full video edit or unlimited script rewrites. More audio or extra languages need hourly or new project quotes.

Net per hour: €97.52. Business payment: 14 days where applicable. 30 percent deposit on booking.

Your prep list

Locked script unless you deliberately leave room for ad-lib. Pronunciation help for brands and abbreviations. Picture or storyboard when timing is critical. Desired file names and folder layout save export time.

Talent should arrive rested and hydrated. Belting or melodic lines fit vocal recording better — different mic position and rates.

Pick-ups and changes

Small pick-ups within a few weeks after delivery may fit a short studio hour when only lines change and picture stays the same. Rewriting the script or adding scenes is new work. We note which take is «hero» per paragraph so pick-ups match.

Cancellation follows the 7-day rule in terms and conditions. Archive 12 months, then delete unless extended.

FAQ

Do you supply the voice actor?

You book studio and engineer; talent comes from you or your agency. Room-only without engineer is discussed at intake — default includes a technician.

Can we record in English?

Yes, targeting international English. Say so when booking so we align brand pronunciation.

What counts as final audio for the project fee?

Length of assembled spoken audio after trimming, not raw time with all mistakes. Unsure? Send the script for a scope check.

Do you translate scripts?

No. Translation and copy sit with your team; we record what you supply.

How fast are files delivered?

Often same day for small sessions; larger projects follow the delivery date on the quote.
