Who is responsible for what
Cijativojaconsulting provides Podcast recording: table setup for up to 4 people, recording and basic editing from €112 per hour or €295 per episode up to sixty minutes raw. We process audio you commission; you decide what goes online.
You clear content rights — quotes, news clips, music — before recording. We cannot give legal advice; use a lawyer when unsure. Liability basics sit in our disclaimer and terms and conditions.
Studio setup and rates: podcast recording. Booking: contact.
Guest and co-host consent
Everyone with a recognisable voice must know how audio will be used: which show, which platforms, editing (intro, ads) and retention. A verbal yes in the room is friendly but weak proof; a short form or email confirmation works better.
Participants must be at least 16 unless a parent or guardian consents and is present or reachable, as in our terms. For minors, the guardian signs and stays involved.
If guests drop out, cancel in time — free up to 7 days before the studio slot; afterward the 30 percent deposit applies. That protects other bookings on Overtoom too.
Music, jingles and samples
Use only music you may synchronise and reproduce in a podcast. Licensed library tracks are fine; commercial hits without clearance are not. Log source and licence id in your production folder for future claims.
Live music in studio falls under different recording options; see services. If you reuse session background music in video, state that in guest paperwork.
Full music production with mix and master runs through mixing and mastering with rights agreed between the creators involved.
Personal data and privacy law
Podcast forms often hold name, email and sometimes employer details. Cijativojaconsulting B.V. processes that data to schedule sessions and deliver audio, as set out in the privacy policy. Retention and data subject rights are there; business clients may need a data processing agreement.
Do not share sensitive facts you do not intend to publish. «Off the record» is not technical — everything on mic may sit in raw archives 12 months unless agreed otherwise.
Our site cookies are covered in the cookie policy; your own podcast site is your responsibility.
What we do in the room
Before rolling we check levels and explain mute buttons and headphone mix. We can record a short on-mic intro where guests state name and consent to publication — not a paper replacement, but useful context.
Basic editing in the episode fee means tidy starts and stops, intelligible dialogue and obvious flub removal — not hours of narrative editing or legal redaction. Extended editing is quoted separately.
Ten-episode bundles (€2,480) work best with one repeatable rights workflow so every guest gets the same documents.
Publication and platforms
Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Dutch hosts ask for categories and contact details. Show notes should avoid unchecked allegations — we capture audio, you edit content.
Social clips are derivatives: the same guest consent should cover clips unless they limited use. Name exports with dates in the file name.
Sponsored segments must follow platform rules and common Dutch advertising practice; legal detail sits outside our studio service.
Practical checklist
| Topic | Action before record |
|---|---|
| Guests | Form or email with show, platform, retention |
| Music | Licence or own work; log source |
| Minors | Guardian signs; age ≥ 16 or with consent |
| Corporate data | Check DPA if HR or client data may appear |
| Cancellation | 7-day rule and 30% deposit |
Having paperwork ready saves table time — see mix budget planning if you later want professional mixes on music intros.
Next steps and contact
Rights are not a one-time checkbox. Reissues, compilations or foreign sync may need updated consent. Keep guest contacts while episodes stay online.
